Movement for a Democratic Society, Austin Chapter

About Us

Many of us are former members of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and former staff members of The Rag, an alternative newspaper. We are in favor of people determining their own lives, free of domination by big government and big corporations. We support gender equality, racial equality and economic equity.

We embrace the radical idea that people should have control over the decisions and resources that affect their lives. We want an immediate end to the war in Iraq. We believe our national resources to be invested in education and universal health care, solutions to global warming and oil dependence, jobs with dignity, an end to poverty and an equitable distribution of wealth.

Coming Events

We will meet from 3:00-5:00, Sunday, April 22nd, at Carver Library.

We have some big plans. Stay tuned.
